Meagan Galloway, SFC

My name is Sergant First Class, Meagan Galloway, and I serve in the United States Army. I decided to join the military because I've always wanted to become a Soldier and be of service to my country. I have been deployed once to Pakistan (2002), and twice to Iraq (2003 and 2006), and serving next to my brothers and sisters in arms-- being in harms way, really made me realize the comradery we shared amongst each other. That will always stick out in my mind. Another profound moment for me was becoming one of the first female senior ranking leaders to serve and lead a chemical operations detachment in a special forces/operations unit. Something that always kept me going was Fitness. Fitness was imperative as a Soldier-- in fact, it was the very first thing we did every single day! Fitness determined your success and would even aide while saving lives. As a soldier, you have to be fit and capable of performing very physically demanding jobs like carrying heavy loads of equipment while moving fast and efficiently. Not being able to do so put others lives in danger, including your own. Today, I still keep physically active because it has been a part of my life for so long, it benefits my health and keeps my morale high.

Ryan Scannell, PO2

My name is Ryan Scannell, and I am a Petty Officer, 2nd Class in the United States Navy. After I graduated college, it was clear that I needed some direction, and upon doing my research, the submarine and nuclear community seemed to be the right fit for me. Two years of my service have been spent as an instructor. Those two years really stuck out to me, because I had a hand in developing and teaching sailors how to do our job, and that is something I can say I'm proud of. Since joining the Navy, I have received the National Defense Service Medal,  Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and I am a two time receiver of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Due to multiple potential casualty scenarios, resulting in personnel breathing supplied air,  I can tell you that being fit and in optimal shape on a submarine is very important. Additionally, space is minimal, so being a big guy doesn’t make transiting the ship any easier. Since space is limited, we only have a couple of ellipticals and treadmills, as well as plently of hull-mounted supports for pull-ups, etc. Needless to say, supplements have really helped me to keep my figure! Fitness First USA has always come through with really fast shipping, and offer a military discount to anyone who serves. Their focus on honoring Military Members has won my loyalty and I will continue to be a Fitness First USA customer for as long as they are in business! I myself am honored to be a part of their intiatives and will always show my support for a company that supports the military.

Nick Phillips, LT

My name is Lieutenant Nick Phillips, and I am currently serving in the United States Coast Guard. I decided to join the military because of my passion for helping others and public service, and I wanted to give back to the country that has given me so much. I spent two years off the coast of Central America conducting counterdrug operations and combating transnational criminal organizations (TCOs). Being the lead boarding officer for multiple counterdrug interdictions downrange in the eastern pacific, it made me proud knowing that our unit had a direct impact on the national defense by interdicting harmful narcotics before they could reach our shores.  Throughout my four years of service, I have received the CG Achievement medal, CG Special Operations Service ribbon, CG Letter of Commendation, Meritorious Team Commendation award, Meritorious Unit Commendation ribbon, and the CG Sea Service Ribbon. Fitness is a HUGE part of my daily regiment as an active duty military member. While deployed, it is our one outlet to be able to relieve stress and take our mind off of the mission for a little. While at home, it allows us to build unit camaraderie and maintain the peak physical condition needed to do our jobs and be able to respond and deploy at a moment’s notice.

Jeremy Park, SGT

My name is Sergeant/Ensign Jeremy Park, and I have served in the US Marine Corps and the US Navy. Ever since I starting playing with GI Joes when I was a kid, I knew that I wanted to serve my country in the US Marine Corps. In 2002 to 2003, I was deployed to Kuwait, Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom, and to Afghanistan in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2015. While I was deployed, Extreme Forces USA/Fitness First USA was our premier supplement supplier. At that time, there were no other companies that shipped to an APO/FPO in the Middle East as quickly and cheaply as FFUSA did. There was never a time when an item wasn’t in stock—we knew we could rely on Fitness First USA. When I returned to the United States, I lived in Massachusetts, and would occasionally drop by the warehouse in Portsmouth, NH. One time, I stopped in to place a small order. The staff recognized that I had been a member for several years, so they loaded me up with tons of free stuff. I will never forget that.

Joey Schlee, SPC

My name is Specialist Joe Schlee. I was a combat medic in the  Army.  I decided to enlist in the military because I believe that it is our patriotic duty to give back to our country and our communities. I decided I could best do this by becoming a medic and serving in the army. I was deployed from May 2015 to February 2016 in a small camp north of Kabul. From my time in the army I received the Army Service Ribbon, Global War on Terror Ribbon,   NATO Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal,  Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Overseas Ribbon,  Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon,  Joint Service Achievement Ribbon, and Joint Service Commendation Ribbon. One of the moment’s during my Army career that made me especially proud to serve our country was arriving back to America from Afghanistan. When my unit arrived back on U.S soil there were countless people there to greet us ith welcome home signs as well as coffee and snacks. It really showed me how incredible our country is, and how much the American people support the armed services.  Fitness first benefits me by helping me to stay in shape even after leaving the military. They are incredibly supportive of the veteran community, and ship to countless overseas posts allowing military members and veterans such as myself opportunities to maintain a healthy life style.

Brice R. Snyder, MSgt

My name is Master Sergeant Brice R. Snyder. I am, and have been proudly serving this Country as a U.S. Marine for the last 20 years. I have been inspired and driven by the U.S. Marine Corps and all that it stands for, since before I can remember. As a child I admired their reputation for tenacity, strength, and brother/sisterhood. My father, and his father before him, have proudly served our Country in various Military organizations, and I felt no better way to thank them, or show my respect and love for them, than to serve as well and carry on the legacy of defense to our Country. I chose the U.S. Marines because of the challenge associated with earning the title; Marine and the responsibility it carries, as well as their fierce reputation known throughout the world by friend and foe. Thus far, I have served as an Infantryman, Light Armored
Reconnaissance (LAR) Crewman,  LAR scout, Infantry Training Instructor, Recruiter, Recruiting Sub Station Commander, Recruiting Station Operations Chief, and Recruiting Station Assistant Recruiter Instructor. I have been stationed in Maryland, California, Maine, New Hampshire, and currently; New York.

I was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq with Echo Company, 3rd LAR Marines as a LAR Crewman and LAR Scout from January 2003 until November of 2003 and was involved in several major battles and campaigns during that time. I was awarded a certificate of commendation award and Combat Action Ribbon for my actions while serving in combat for that time. My unit was also awarded a Presidential Unit Citation for our participation and actions in campaigns during that time. Since my time as a recruiter began in May of 2007, I have been awarded several personal awards/medals to include a Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and several Certificates of Commendation.

Both Recruiting Stations I have work for have been recognized as the Top Recruiting Station in Eastern Recruiting Region (a big deal in the recruiting world). Every day as a U.S. Marine is a proud day for me. For me to identify one memorable moment would be difficult. I love my Country, its people, and the Marines I serve with. It is an amazing feeling to belong to an organization of motivated individuals that I get to call my brothers and sisters. I have had the opportunity to lead Marines, and seeing them awarded for their actions and efforts is the most rewarding part of my job. To know that I may have had a hand in their successes is why I continue to serve the Marine Corps and all Marines. It's simply what we do.

I have been a loyal customer of Fitness First USA since I discovered them in Portsmouth, New Hampshire around 2009, and believe I was one of the original "walk in Customers". Since then I have gotten to know the staff and visited with them over the years. I have also had the opportunity to partner with Fitness First USA for community events to include a memorial hero work out that was conducted in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in honor of Lance Corporal Gregory MacDonald who lost his life while serving with me in Iraq in April,
2003. Fitness First USA has continued to provide outstanding service and excellent products/prices to my family and my Marines. I was pleased to present Mike and the staff in New Hampshire with a plaque and letter of appreciation from the Marines of Recruiting Station Portsmouth for their continued support to us. (I believe Mike still has that plaque in his office). I look forward to continuing to partner with such an outstanding company, and thank you again for your continued support to our Armed Forces and the men and women that are sworn to protect our beloved Country.
